Over two years ago we started building this new live performance idea. Life threw us off course when Bebop had an emergency surgery, and the year of recovery that followed slowed everything down. Nearly a year ago we eased back into the project, and about nine months ago we began shaping this performance piece by piece until we finally filmed it. This video is the result of all of that time, patience, and rebuilding.
Here is our new live dub performance! All played in real time with instruments, the RC‑505mkII, and on‑the‑spot mixing. The track keeps shifting and opening up as it goes, with four different sections that bring in new layers, including a late‑session piano return and some sample work. If you give it a watch, staying through the ending really shows where the tune lands. Thanks for being part of this little sonic experiment with us.
